Sisine (http://www.sisine.net/) : was a project in the EU-funded Life Long Learning Program which ran from 2005 to 2007. The project's goal was to develop new technology-based tools and new blended training practices to teach negotiating skills. These were tested in three pilot studies in Poland , Slovakia and Italy . Xiwrite's role was to assist the coordinator CNR in the management of the project, and to coordinate the project's dissemination activities.
I.-Learning: I-Learning is a project in the EU's Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) program – part of Framework V. The project began in October 2002 and ended its activities in March 2005. The goal of the project was to develop and test a novel, technology-assisted technique for the teaching of complex motor skills to large target populations. The new technique exploits the concept of “motor” and “mental imagery” –a hot topic in basic neurological and cognitive science. The project successfully tested the technique with patients undergoing neurological rehabilitation after stroke and with drivers learning to drive on ice. Xiwrite's role in the project, was to assist Telecom Italia Learning Services (the co-ordinating partner) in the scientific coordination of the project, ensuring effective collaboration between neuro-scientists, technology specialists and applications developers
@SAT: From April 2002 to January 2004, Xiwrite assisted QMS in the @SAT project – part of the EU TEN-Telecom program. @SAT's goal was to develop and trial innovative interactive satellite services – in particular distance learning services - targeting East European countries. Xiwrite's role in the project was to help QMS – a content specialist – to define specifications and technical requirements for multimedia content developers and for satellite service providers. In addition to this work, Xiwrite assisted the project partners in preparing the business plan for the deployment of @SAT services and in planning project reviews.
Evaluation of educational software: In 2003 XiWrite collaborated with ISFOL and with BBJ-Bruxelles to develop a formalized methodology for the evaluation of educational software. The methodology consisted of a mix heuristic methods, peer review, and laboratory tests. At the end of the project, the team published a book entitled Linee Guida per la Valutazione di Qualità del Software Didattico nell'E-Learning (Guidelines for evaluating the quality of educational software (ISFOL, 2004)
